Do you want to improve your quilting accuracy and make new quilting friends? Then join us on this 2018 quilt-along aventure: Colourful Dreams.
The Colourful Dreams quilt contains 12 large and unique quilt block designs. This quilt-along is for the confident beginner and each block in the quilt has been chosen for its learning potential. Once you complete the quilt you will be confident in your ability to make half-square, quarter-square and split-quarter-square triangles and flying geese units. I will walk you through, step-by-step, with full colour diagrams, how to complete this quilt top.
Lessons for this quilt-along will be released twice a month, on the 10th and the 24th, starting March 10, 2018 and ending in September 2018. Lessons are available as PDF documents and you will log into this site on each lesson day to download the latest document.
Quilt-alongs are lots of fun! I encourage you to join our Facebook Group, where you’ll be able to meet friends from around the world, share your fabrics and blocks, and ask questions as we create this quilt together. You can also follow me on Instagram, and if you share your blocks there, please use the tag #colorfuldreamsQAL. (Yes, I used the American spelling for the word colour for the tag.)
- Nine (9) fabrics/colours, at 1/2 yard each or 18-24 fat quarters (having a bit extra never hurts).
- 3 1/2 yards of background including sashing and outer border (shown as white in the diagram).
- 1/2 yard for binding, cut at 2 1/2″.
- Approximately 4 yards for the back (assuming you piece some strips with leftover fabrics from the front).
Optional: Depending on your own level of expertise, you might wish to have 1 yard of additional fabrics that you can use for creating sample pieces. Scraps will be fine.
This quilt-along is a one-time fee of $18.00 USD. There are no additional monthly fees.
